- Viking Cruises has canceled all sailings until at least 2021, the company announced on Wednesday, becoming the latest cruise line to push sailings amid the continuing battle against the.
- Born from the Professional line, the new Viking line delivers genuine Viking performance with sleek styling and standard sizes. Whether you’re just starting out or redesigning your entire kitchen, here’s your chance to inspire instead of aspire.
- Viking Cruises screens all our job applicants, reviews each resume personally and will contact you directly if there is an interest in your resume. We never ask our applicants to pay a fee for any service whatsoever. However, please be aware that numerous fraudulent companies posing as Viking Cruises are publishing scam job offers on the Web.
- As Viking Club Plus member, I got a Christmas present from Viking Line. The price for a two-night Stockholm cruise in an LXA cabin was just 139 euros. The normal price would have been 450 euros. LXA cabins are spacious cabins (20m2) with a view to the bow. Four are located on deck 7 and four on deck 9. We asked for deck 9 and got it.
The common thread between Royal Viking Line and Viking Oceans is, of course, Torstein Hagen. I have heard folks speaking highly of Royal Viking Line for years but have never sailed them. At that time I was using my limited funds and vacation time to sail QE2 to England to see family.
Viking Line has announced it will open up passenger service again for essential traffic, including travel for work, starting May 14. The move comes as a result of the Finnish government's decision on May 4 to gradually ease some of the restrictions imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Four of Viking Line’s seven vessels will continue their service between Finland and Sweden, the Åland Islands and Estonia.
“We are pleased that the decision has now been made to partly ease travel restrictions,” says Jan Hanses, president and CEO of Viking Line. “It is extremely important to maintain vital social functions by allowing essential service between these countries. We look forward to resuming our normal service with the hope that this can take place in time for our peak summer season. We are working in close collaboration with the authorities in charge to ensure that all forms of travel are carried out in a safe and secure manner. Taking a holiday locally is something that we expect will be attractive going forward. We believe that trips to our destinations and, above all, to and through the Baltic Sea archipelagos will experience a renaissance.”

In April, Viking Line reported a heavy volume of freight traffic on its vessels which have been maintaining goods transports and related logistic services to safeguard the security of supply in Finland. Of the five Viking Line ships operating under the Finnish flag, M/S Viking Grace, M/S Amorella, M/S Rosella and M/S Gabriella are in operation and transporting cargo. The emphasis in cargo traffic at the moment is on guaranteeing the supply of food and medicines, says Viking Line.
As of May 5, the World Health Organization reports Finland having 5,327 cases of COVID-19 with 240 deaths.
Malika is our winner!
We want to thank everyone in Sweden, Finland and around the world who engaged in the search for a name for our new ship. Of the 22,500 submitted proposals, we selected ten for the final. When the vote was finished, Glory remained as the winner.
A total of 464 people suggested the name Glory, but Malika Djillali-Merzoug in Stockholm was the fastest. Only a short while after the competition was opened early in the morning of April 3, she had already submitted her contribution. According to the competition rules, it is therefore Malika who wins first prize in Viking Line's name competition 2019.
We got a little chat with Malika Djillali-Merzoug who is proud and happy about the win. Malika has traveled with Viking Line all her life, indeed since she was in her Finnish mother's stomach. Now she last traveled in April with Viking Grace to visit her grandmother in Finland. Grace is also the favorite vessel, says Malika, although it was on the former Viking ship Isabella that she met her future husband.

Malika thinks that Glory is a good name for the new ship because it fits nicely with Grace. Glory also stands for 'glory and splendor, something I think the ship will live up to,' says Malika. We believe in that! Congratulations to Malika Djillali-Merzoug, who is thanked for her contribution with two places on Viking Glory's maiden voyage in 2021. The other nine finalists have been contacted and wins two places were on premier cruises during the ship's first year. Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the competition.
