Number 1 – Innotoria Tower Defense

Number 1 on my list is Innotoria TD, a brand new indie tower defense game that is available on iOS and Android. It’s still a newbie in the Tower Defense scene and is severely underrated. Call me a hipster but I love the fact that I’m one of the first to find and try out this game. Plus I’m always up for supporting an indie developer.

In the game, you defend against waves of delicious looking dumplings (and other less cute enemies) using the towers and spells at your disposal. The spells are actually cast by swiping motions which I did not expect, but thoroughly enjoy. It’s like the powers are in my fingers (which they are).

The biggest difference in this game is that the enemy paths are not pre-defined. The map is actually wide open and you create a maze with your units which the enemy will walk around (while getting arrows in their behind). The game feels quite nice and different from the Kingdom Rush-esque games that are now a dime-a-dozen in the app store.

All in all, definitely a fun tower defense game to try for the weekend. Plus you can never go wrong supporting an indie developer.

Number 2 – Bloon TD 5

I remember when the first Bloons TD came out on flash, I spent countless hours on that game. Something about the balloon popping goodness just feels good you know? I have the same feeling for Bloons TD 5 (which I’ve already beaten btw). The only reason Bloons TD 5 is number 2 is simply because everyone already knows about this game. This game has been on top of countless app store lists and everyone’s recommended list that I feel kind of cheap recommending Bloons TD here. But hey! Maybe you’re one of those that still hasn’t played the game yet. If you are, what are you waiting for?

Bloons TD involves a cute concept of military grade monkeys taking out evil dangerous balloons (they’re dangerous okay?!). The game is simply addicting which is why it’s personally one of my favorite tower defense games of all time. Maybe we will see Bloons TD 6 soon?

Number 3 – Kingdom Rush Origins

Kingdom Rush Origins is another great fun tower defense game. The only drawback, if any is that the game is simply not free. The $2.99 price tag on the game doesn’t really hinder the game at all considering it is still one of the top sellers on both Google Play and iTunes App Store but it is definitely a con. Kingdom Rush Origins is probably my favorite in the Kingdom Rush series, the new characters and animations just feels smooth.

This game feels more like a hybrid of tower defense and RTS (real-time strategy), giving it a very action-y and intense feeling. I don’t really think there’s any bad thing to say about this game other than the fact that they charge for the game and then charge for additional heroes in the game again. I don’t mind paying for one or the other, but BOTH? Come on IronHideGames! I did obviously spend the $2.99 on the game though of course. If you’re not someone who minds spending some money for some fun, Kingdom Rush Origins is a must try for you this weekend (if you haven’t played it yet of course).

Balloons Pop is a colorful strategy game for kids & teens where you have to pop all the balloons using your rocket. You can finally experience the thrill of unleashing a rocket! This lively and unique game requires good planning skills and offers hours of addicting entertainment! Have a blast!

The aim of the game is to pop all the balloons on the game screen using your rocket. You have full control over the power and direction of the rocket, but once you release the rocket, then it is in fate's hands as to where it flies! This will improve your eye for detail as you must try include all the balloons in your aim, so they are all destroyed. On the more difficult levels you may have to get creative in your thinking too, as you must think outside the box to ensure all the balloons are popped!

How To Play: First select a mission to play. You can move your rocket along the bottom row to adjust the angle of the shot. To fire, move your cursor over the rocket and then left click, hold, and pull back and this will increase the power ready for when you release. As soon as you release, the rocket will fire off and try and aim it so it takes out all the balloons. You can bounce the rocket off the outer walls too so help you, should you need. Good luck!
